Yes, but what you are NOT entitled to is private information concerning a minor. This is a thread about a soccer game so let's talk about that and leave the girl alone.

No one is worried about the girl. Think more question why you punish a kid for doing more soccer with high end players. Doesn't support the development theory.

With the DA coming we don't want to run off all of the top soccer players.

My guess, and that is all it is, is that there are team rules laid out in the pre-season that must be applied equally to all players. One of those rules may regard the attendance and participation in pre-season workouts and may state that if players miss a certain number of workouts, for whatever reason, there is a penalty to be paid. So if player 'A' misses for a family vacation and player 'B' misses for another reason other than medical or emergency, they will be treated/penalized equally.

This player may have fully understood the team rules and discussed traveling and playing in Nationals with her HS coach before hand. And made the decision to participate in Nationals knowing and accepting the consequences.

 

I'm not questioning the coach, it is his/her choice to run their program as they see fit.

 

Personally if my kid has earned, it is not given, the opportunity to participate in the Nationals, I'm fully supporting them to go for it. Playing in Nationals can be a once in a lifetime experience, something thousands upon thousands of youth soccer players never get to experience.

And it makes no sense to punish a player for doing it, if that was the reason for punishment. Not start her, completely understandable, full suspension, to me, lunacy.
