What does West Carter need to do to improve in 2016? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

West graduated a ton of football talent. Not only Braden Brown, who was the best football player at West since his dad in my opinion, but they lost some really good lineman, especially Jordan. Going to be hard to replace them.

Lose a ton of speed but they still have a ton of talent. Ethan is only a pinch slower than Braden, and Braden's brother Peyton will be be back too a long with a lot of other players that can contribute.

 

Dalton Whitt transferred from East to West and will help out. I think they'll be just fine over on the West end of Carter County.

I see another winning season in Olive Hill. But, I can't imagine them being as good or explosive as they were last season. They just lost too much, IMO.

West will have great team speed once again. Their skill players will be adequately replaced, due to the strength of there schedule. But the loss of B. Brown, Z. Walker, T. Mosby will cut their offensive production in half or more than last year. Defense will be the deciding factors in the success of their season this fall. West will struggle up front has they have in years past, which has kept them battling to make .500 for decades. I still think their chances of a winning season this fall is very achievable. It's not about how good you are, it's about who you play and IMO my opinion football in NEKY is down this year. Not being a hater, there just isn't a lot of stand out talent in the EKC or the regular season Class 3A schedule West will face this year. Which I think will make for some very completive play, with the prize of getting destroyed by Belfry in the playoffs.

I agree the EKC lost some good players to graduation and Belfry may be the best in the state overall this season so that what everyone has to look forward to. But I have to disagree on 2 (maybe 3) of the wins listed, especially at Nicholas and at Powell. Both are going to very good this season.
