Trump, NATO and Putin

Trump just said he may not back NATO allies, but Obama is weak with Russia.

OK. :thumb:

I'm having a hard time with Trump's isolationist ideas and Repubs eating that up. If we are going that direction what's the purpose of expanding the military if this is the agenda?

Look what Isolationism lead to in the decades of the 20's and 30's of the last century . It didn't work then and it certainly won't work now.

I agree. Of course Russia/Soviet Union has always been a diplomatic nightmare since WW2 with the exception of a few brief periods.

NATO is a few countries with the will to fight and a bunch of countries who hide behind the US.

You just described a good portion of the world.

Trump's comments alienate allies and in no way indicate a strong NATO alliance under a Trump presidency.
