Hopefully a speedy recovery for games that matter a bit more down the line.

Nothing against Soccerama but I can't quite force myself to watch meaningless games in 90 degree heat.

I'd agree that the BG vs Dunbar game will give a good indication of where some of the traditional powers are this year from down state. Trinity vs the N. Ky teams will be a good measuring stick as well.

Actually, it turned out to be a very pleasant evening (weather-wise) for those who watched the second game.

Just caught 15 so not to much to say but both played with intensity and just seemed young

Ryle looked good probably should have scored more. Both teams look good and have talent should be good years for them.

How did the Saturday games go?

St Henry wins 8-0. I think Conner changed goalies for the second half. Conner played nearly all sophomores. St Henry mixed up their lineup. Some starters played more minutes than others. I was told both teams had starters out with injuries.

I believe it was St. Henry 6 Connor 0 in the first game. Connor is going to struggle to win many games from what I saw. St Henry looked ok I guess but not as sharp as I expected with that many seniors.

 

I only saw half of CCH vs Cooper with CCH up 2-0 at half. Very choppy half for CCH and not very sharp either. Cooper looked to be pretty good, especially without Snow in the lineup. CCH played a mixed lineup in the first half so I expect they were experimenting quite a bit.

You may be right that it was 8-0. Hard game to watch really. Connor looked really young to me.

I didn't see any of the Soccerama games but some thoughts/questions on these comments.

Did Connor play their JV team?

How many of these seniors played quality minutes (good amount of minutes in competitive, tightly contested games) last season?

Graduating 18-19 seniors (what ever it was) 9 and at times 10 of them quality starters will cause any program to take sometime to even begin to resemble a cohesive unit.

Playing mixed up lineup (not surprised by this one bit) is needed but will cause CCH to be up and down early in the season. The CCH staff will get it figured out, but it won't happen over night. Also worth noting this was CCH's first scrimmage, they did not play in the BGSG, a lot of NKY teams already have 3 games of "experimenting" under their belt.

Cooper reached the Regionals last year in a very competitive 34th District, not surprised by this score.
