What does Marshall County need to do to improve in 2016? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

IMO Marshall has always been a "Sleeping Giant". They always have good numbers and good size and speed. What they have not always had is a good head coach. Everyone considers them a basketball school but I assure you if they ever figure out hiring a good football coach they will be a load to deal with.

Why don't they hire one?

Never thought of them as sleeping giant but they did have some decent teams in mid 2000's and I think in 95 they gave ST X all they wanted.

IMO the whole school from the administration to the janitors are all basketball minded. They do not care about football. To them football is an afterthought a fill in sport so to speak until basketball starts.

Very tough district and region. From all I know and have heard, Coach Merrick, his staff and players are absolutely doing all of the right things when it comes to their program in terms of culture and all things "team".

Christian County, Owensboro, Graves County, Bowling Green, Greenwood, etc. in their district/region and then South Warren gets added to that mix in 2017. Tough crowd to be in.
