I know it's just summer ball but I was surprised how weak some of the teams looked both at the varsity and JV levels. Mason County and East Carter were by far the class of the group. The Mayo girl from EC is really good and the MC girls looked much better in the 2nd matchup.

 

Mason County has a killer schedule this year. I hope the MC girls will be ready when the season starts.

Where does Mason County head from here in summer ball? Is Bracken County participating in summer ball?

I know some of the schedule. They are playing at team camps at Xavier, Miami OH, Louisville Mercy and Thomas More. Just don't know when they all are.

Really hope those that make this schedule out aren't worried about burn out, knee injuries,etc. I know they want to win a State Tournament or be in a position to, at least. But from the lower grades up, seems like the Girls teams especially are really packing on the games thru AAU,traveling etc., even more than the norm. Am I right?

I don't know that it's any more than most of the other teams around here. Most teams play 3 - 4 events I believe. AAU ball is the main difference, kids that play it basically play all summer now.

That's probably a 20 game schedule over 11 or so days. May be a little on the high side but most of these camps are running clock games with a lot more socializing than playing.

 

It is definitely getting to be more the norm these days...
