West got a great draw for them with 4 of of the top 6 teams in the upper bracket. Grant it I think it is Greenup's tournament to lose and will be a huge blow to a great season if they don't complete it by winning the region. But the top 6 teams to me from the 16th is Greenup, West, East, Rowan Boyd, and Ashland in that order and 4 or those 6 are in the upper bracket. Should be a good tournament, but for Greenup to lose they would just have to play really bad and I don't see that happening.

Who does Rowan pitch game 1?

I don't think they will win without throwing Plank. East has already ready defeated Rowan 8-2 and 9-1 I don't think Plank pitched in either one of those games. I personally think they would have a better chance against Greenup by throwing a junk baller Greenup can hit a hard thrower pretty well.

To show the difference in the strength of the two brackets the upper bracket has 99 wins and only 38 losses and the bottom bracket has 63 wins and 61 losses and West has 24 of those 63 wins by themselves.

Rowan pitched the same pitcher both times against East when they played during the season. East didnt see Rowan's #1, #2 and #3 pitchers.

I think choosing when to throw your true ace in postseason is one of the toughest decisions a high school manager makes all season.

If Ben Jordan was healthy I think that's the only chance anyone has to beating Greenup, maybe Plank could but Ben would have a better chance.

 

If Rowan saves Plank for game 2, East could do the same with Walburn IMO and win and save him for Greenup.

 

One thing is for sure, if Greenup wins they'll have played 3 top region teams in the tournament.

Making the drive in to see Greenup Co. and will stay around for game two if Planck is throwing. If not, will be rushing to Paris to see Mac Whitaker's team take on Montgomery Co.
