Ryle 4 Cooper 2

Featured Replies

Very exciting game in the 33rd district this afternoon before an outstanding crowd. Congrats to Ryle as they move on to play Boone County Tuesday for the championship. Very proud of the Cooper girls as this team just keeps improving. Cooper takes an early 2 to 0 lead early,Ryle ties the game and it stays tied until the 6th inning when Ryle scores two. Copper fails to mount any threat in the 7th. Two outstanding pitching performances by both pitchers. On a side not, lots of class by The Ryle coach to come over and have some very kind words to the Cooper girls. Thank goodness for a great weather day and best of luck to all remaining teams.

WOW!

Both teams are stocked with some nice young talent.

Yes, a great day for some ball games indeed! There were definatly some exciting games today! Congrats to Ryle for coming back and taking the win. It was back and forth between Boone and Connor with Boone finally taking the lead and holding on. Congrats to Boone. Good luck to both Tuesday.

Wind was definatly a factor today, holding back some potential home run hits, but all in all, great games and a big crowds today!

So Conner is finished for the Season? Man that's a tough District to get out of if True....

Thought all the teams played well, and the crowd was great. Nice job by Cooper to have the field ready. Beautiful day for softball after a lousy spring with all the rain. Congrats to Boone County and Ryle. Cooper played outstanding, and Conner finishes off a tough 2016.

The strangest season in Conner softball history has ended. I think they played a total of about 14 or 15 games.

Yeah unfortunately Highlands was supposed to be one of those many missed games due to the Eternal debacle. We were supposed to play Conner last Monday and had to be moved to Friday so Conner could make up a District opponent needed for District seeding. And then Friday Conner had to cancel with Highlands because once again another District makeup. It is what it is.....

The only bummer was that there was about 8-10 Highlands JV girls that continued to practice and train in hopes to get their JV game in. Some of those girls that don't get to Dress Varsity were told that basically their season was over after Practice last Wed. Highlands JV coach then reached out and got them a Double Header on Sat morning only to be called for Rain. Again, it is what it is...

Hopefully whoever keeps the Conner job reaches out to Highlands 1st next year with non district match ups to fulfill their 2016 commitment. Were still waiting on the other Boone Co. team to look us up. Something tells me that teams in NKY will start burning up Coffey's email when the 2016 season has come to a close.

Also Conners senior night was rained out Friday, we got the Cooper girls there along with the umps, Coach Hicks and staff worked and worked and it just kept raining.

If anyone would have seen the Cooper field Saturday, you would have said no way. We worked 3 hours Saturday, actually dug some holes in the filed to let water run into and bucketed water off, got there at 9:30 Sunday and kept at it, a big thanks to our parents who helped, the players and the coaching staff, it truly was a TEAM effort. Thanks to all. It was one of the biggest crowds I have seen in a long time for Softball.

It must be a 36th District thing, we didn't see them as well. :idunno:

You all did an amazing job! A great big KUDOS to all the grounds team staff and volunteers (hoping there were some involved) that made it happen! Hope the forecast holds off to allow for more tournament play this week!
