camelman
Saw a Mike Fields story (on the KHSAA site) that said the series could very well be laid to rest after this year's installment. Everyone seems to think there is nothing that can be done to save it. Even AAU was cited as a reason for the demise of interest in the series. I can remember not so long ago when the Ky. game was played in historic Freedom Hall and brought in a very sizeable crowd. Now, they say some of the players don't even get really excited about playing in the game. Lost its luster.
Smallhoops
I've been going to these games since the 1970's. I am surprised it has lasted this long, at least here in Kentucky. From 1939-54, there was only one game a year, always in Indianapolis. A reversion back to that set-up would seem to make sense.
Oldercoach
Right. Heck I'd say on a scale of 1-100, it's 0 buildup. Very similar to the exposure the Girls Sweet Sixteen got in NKy this year.
