Yesterday via an executive order, Kentucky's extremely muscular Gov. Matt Bevin abolished the Worker's Compensation Nominating Commission.

 

Sacked all its members. Appointed all new ones.

 

What will this mean? The notion is that ALJs are too-worker friendly. The newly nominated folks will be more business-friendly.

 

Kentuckians overwhelmingly voted last fall for ALJ reform . . . to make it more difficult for injured workers to secure benefits.

I love the KTCR. Back in my lawfirm days I used to have first dibs at reading it when it showed up in the mail, and it seemed like there was at least 1 case each month where the author managed to slip in some kind of incredibly entertaining editorial comment (like the one mentioned above).

I'm happy our Gov no longer looks like Mr Burns from The Simpsons .

I believe the muscular comment was meant figuratively, not literally.

I believe this is great. Some of the very folks who voted for Bevin will feel his wrath.
