Absolutely. Kid is going to get that opportunity and leave a strong program with the school scoring record and a state title.

Great fundamentally and also a great competitor - he will struggle athletically against high D-1 talent, but I could see him have a very successful career in the MAC.

If he gets a free education and also to continue playing basketball, then it is a win win no matter what for him and I say congratulations!!

 

So true... I was getting ready to say the same thing. I think at times on here people get caught up to much in the D1/D2/D3 levels. It all comes down to what the kid's goals are and what he feels comfortable with. If he is wanting to stay home and NKU has offered him that would be a great fit. If he choose to go away I think after this season he will have plenty of interest that he will have the opportunity to go about anywhere (geographically) he wants.

I would agree with that. D1 is the only level you are guaranteed a full ride for basketball. D2 can be full or partial. D3 is academic. NAIA is similar to the NCAA levels but can do a lot of different things being they are not mandated by the NCAA.

 

I guess my point it. If a kid has the ability to continue is basketball through college and is getting part or all of his schooling for that is great. College is just so expensive.
