Who would he replace?

Who would he replace?

I have not seen everyone play but others have. I just don't see how you leave off one of the leading rebounders in KY basketball history (especially in your top 22).

The all time one season shot blocker didn't make it either. I wouldn't replace him with any of the the 10 that made it.

It is tough to make it when it

is 10 players.

Two different committees.

Haha It's like BGP is the NCAA, one year the committee relies on RPI and the other on Top 50 wins.

I could be wrong but I don't think the leading scorer for the boys made the All BGP team.

Did somebody pass Faulkner for scoring leader?

Cotlon Elkins finished his career as #3 all time in blocked shots. He didn't make it either.

As for the top 22 those remaining 12 were simply a quick off the top of my head list. It was a incomplete list of 12 done with zero discussion from any of the other committee members. I was asked a question and answered it immediately. I left off at least 8 more kids other than Matt Wilson including Colton Elkins and Trey Blevins. Not only was Matt Wilson on the initial list for consideration but there were as many as 30-40 kids on the initial list for discussion that needed to be whittled down to 10. Each committee member made lists of who they thought were the top 10 players and once we got the consensus choices out of the way the discussion began for the remaining open slots on the team.

Nah. It's two separate committees and both try to put together a list of who they think are the 10 best players. To date there hasn't been a single All BGP team or All State team in any sport that everyone agrees is perfect. Comes with the territory.

I wasn't sure. I'd have to check but it seems like depending on when and which schools reported the top 2 scorers changed a few times this season. I'll have to go check.

He's not on the final KHSAA list — it has Michael Harris of Walden at 32.9ppg. Faulkner finished at 35ppg according to the KHSAA/Riherd's Scoreboard site stats.

That's what it was. I knew there was someone close but the inconsistency of reporting made it difficult for me to remember who the true leader was.

As there are different committees every year, its ways the flavor of the month, as it was with these selection committees. One obviously voted based on colleges they will attend and the other voted on actual accolades and worth to the team.

How many did he end up with? Wondering how close he got.

Off hand I want to say 470something. I have the stats at home.

That's a very high, rare, number of blocks in a career at the high school level. Kid could flat out jump and his timing was impressive too. He was fun to watch play!
