March 30th, 2016 was the one year anniversary...

...for my hip replacement. What did I do one year to the day of my replacement? I walked 4 miles...1 mile on each break at work...2 miles walking 9 holes, carrying my clubs at my home golf course. I have gone, in one year, from barely being able to walk from my car to my office chair without being in quite a bit of discomfort/pain before my surgery, to this.

This time last year I was laying on my couch, wondering if I would actually be able to play golf again, wondering if I did the right thing in having the surgery...worried about my blood sugar levels and diabetes that had crept up on me and were way high and getting out of control. I feel soooooooooo much better than I did before the surgery and have gotten in so uch better shape. I had essentially become sedentary. Thank God for modern medicine, and having an excellent surgeon.

Had my one year post op check up a couple of weeks ago. Doc said everything looked excellent.:thumb:

Good to hear you had a great checkup. My husband broke his hip in a fall a little over a year ago, it wasn't a replacement but the recovery is pretty much the same. Your accomplishments for the year were hard to earn and well deserved.

Congrats!! Feb 10th was my one year anniversary of my left knee total replacement. Doing fine now and don't have to see the dr again until Feb 2018.
