I totally agree, sorry BigGreenHorse, but there is no way our pitcher only throws 38mph. You may want to put new batteries in your radar gun :ohbrother:

 

I think you are still reading this wrong...if a team is using a pitching machine and has it set at, say, 50...then they face a pitcher that throws, say 41 for sake of argument....batters get out front.

 

What I hear you saying is that you don't believe that the gun was working correctly ? What is your basis ? It would appear that the CC pitcher was around 41 that particular evening....

It really doesn't matter if she was throwing 38 or 98 she must of pitched a pretty good game to hold Highlands to 2 runs and the D must of been good because good teams like Highlands make you pay for additional outs. Every player / team hit certain pitching better than others as far as speed and location goes that's what makes the game so interesting. ( Unless four king crazy fed all the players his famous B - Q before the game LOL )

Disagree...if you are hitting a machine consistently at 50, then everything below 50 looks like a change up and your timing is off. Come on B, even you know that's true. I don't think anyone was saying that the pitching was bad, but that HHS' timing was off. No harm, no foul....got to agree with Big O on this one, let's not be so sensitive

If Highlands is as good as their ranking they should be able to adjust to the pitching after 3 inn. Maybe you are slapping your own team in the face saying they just can't adjust to a slower ball??? Sounds like Coach B is correct with the comment on having a good day on the mound.

Seen her twice and she has pitched well. No criticism just trying to say when you face different speeds of pitching and you are a good hitting team it can mess you up. A change of 10-15 MPH or so is huge ...again it is what it is thats what the gun said. I had Highlands pitcher at 49-52 that day. A lot also depends on location, movement and control

As a coach you hope your players can or don't take to long adjusting to different pitchers styles & speed but its easier said then done.
