How did Belfry and Hazard look in the scrimmage?

Hazard looked very good going up against 2A powerhouse Belfry-matching TD for TD and standing up against the run of Belfry-not to say Belfry didn't have their moments with some long runs-but I think Hazard not only proved to themselves but the fans in attendance and the belfry pirates.Hazards JV looked very good scoring at will and holding belfry scoreless.Although I believe Colby Hoskins who plays the entire game on each side of the ball and all special teams needs to touch the ball more on offense-he's a playmaker. Good luck Bulldogs.

So does this results tell us that Hazard is better than some thought or that Belfry is in for a very non-Belfry like year?

Both teams had bright spots and concerns.

 

Belfry looked very good at times but I believe they put the ball on the ground 5 times the first two series(10/10).

 

Hazard's young QB looked nervous in the early going but as the scrimage progressed looked better and better.

 

My opinion. Coach Haywood and the Pirates will be just fine. Looked like the same ole Belfry to me. You better get them early. Come playoff time lookout.

 

Hazard is very young and will get better as the year goes forward barring injury. The JV are very talented and the future looks bright for Coach Dixon and the Bulldogs.

I wouldn't assume either one NCF, I saw a little bit different scrimmage than the previous description.

 

Varsity action was actually not even. Hazard has some nice athletes and they played hard but they were outmatched. Belfry played a ton of subs all over and kept it fairly close to the vest. Even after going strictly with 2nd stringers, Hazard stayed with their ones for a couple of series putting up 2 or 3 scores to bring it close.

 

All in all a good showing by both squads. I don't think Hazard is nearly as good as their 2005 team but they showed potential and signs of being very good.

 

Belfry was improved from their first scrimmage and defense looked much better with the exception of some breakdowns on pass defense. Belfry did have the fumble bug and laid it on the ground several times, a few of which came on the QB/FB fake on the belly.

It's going to be weird not starting my season off in Pike County this year. I hope things some as far as the P-County Bowl goes next season because I love coming down there.

I wasnt there but I heard the Varsity score was Belfry 5 TD's to Hazard 2. That isnt much to get excited about Belfry beating you by that in a scrimage. But I wasnt there so Im just going by what I heard. I will defintly take Watusi word for it because he is probably the most honest and unbiased Belfry fan I have seen.

I have some concerns about Belfry's secondary. The loss of Nick Bowe may hurt in this area far greater than on offense. I assume starting positions are not set at this time, but can anyone provide the current picture of who is currently on the 1st line of the depth chart on both sides of the ball?

 

Through the grapevine, I have heard concerns about the offensive front. This comes as some surprise to me considering #63, #62, and Steele return.

 

Any input is appreciated. Belfry fans are staying quite close to the vest.
