Henry Clay/ South Laurel Scrimmage Results?

Featured Replies

I couldn't make it over last night and have not seen anything posted. How did Henry Clay look?

Minnifield scored twice, catching a pass for a TD and rushing for a TD. Donte Gay also had a pair of rushing TDs.

South scored a pair of TDs on long pass plays from Bowling to Bingham and Quinn. South missed another chance to score when they had 1st and goal from the 8, but a would-be TD on third down was dropped, and Bowling had a man in the corner of the end zone open, but the HC DB (#21 — don't have a roster) made a spectacular INT.

HC is pretty darned explosive, but they are not quite as good as last year. Still, they have a chance in most every game if they're getting Minnifield 20-25 touches.

For having two of their key receivers out, SL looked pretty good. I think they have the potential to surprise a few people. Phillip Hibbard has improved tremendously, and spent a lot of time in the HC backfield. He's going to be a load for other teams to deal with.

Bowling's arm looks much stronger this season.

I thought there was going to be a quarterback competition this year at South Laurel between Ricky Bowling and Jantzen O'Neill. I heard only Bowling played last night.

O'Neill?

O'Neal decided to quit when Bowling beat him out for the job.
