The first round playoffs match-ups are set. All NHL series are best of 7 with a 2-2-1-1-1 format. (I personally prefer this over the 2-3-2 format that the NBA and MLB for their 7 game series.)

Easter Conference:

Washington (home ice) vs Philadelphia

Florida (home ice) vs NY Islanders

Pittsburgh (home ice) vs NY Rangers

Tampa Bay (home ice) vs Detroit

Western Conference:

Dallas (home ice) vs Minnesota

Anaheim (home ice) vs Nashville

St. Louis (home ice) vs Chicago

Los Angeles (home ice) vs San Jose

At the time of this post, no dates had been set, yet.

Just saw tonight that Wednesday night the Bolts host the Red Wings at 7pm on NBCSHD followed by Chicago at St. Louis. Looking forward to it!

It was a great match! Got pretty chippy in the 2nd period, I love hockey!

The 3rd period was no cake walk, either. Justin Abdelkader kept throwing himself at people. I got tickled with Jonathan Drouin taking him on. Drouin is little guy and had himself a whale of a game. They had 72 hits between the two teams (TB 37, Det 35) and 36 penalty minutes (18 minutes each).

This series is going to be a war.

I watched the 2nd period of the Chicago/St. Louis game, thinking it would be all blood and guts. After watching the Detroit/Tampa Bay game, it seemed kind of like two church groups having a friendly Sunday afternoon outing. :)

Had to go to bed, before the 3rd, so I don't know what happened afterward.

I'm going to take these out into individual threads.
