Closer than I would have thought, but these teams always play tough in the post season.

Bowling Green almost ran away with it twice, and never trailed after the first quarter. They were down 16-15 when they went on a 15-2 run to seize control. They maintained between an 8-14 point lead until Central made an 11-0 run midway through the third to cut it to 45-42. Bowling Green responded with 8 in a row to push it back out. But they went rather cold during the 4th, and Central go all the way to 62-61 with the ball and just over a minute left. A 10 foot jumper from the wing by Jewell wouldn't go, and Bowling Green survived via free throws down the stretch. Great game, and may happen again, but Central will really have to earn its way to make that happen. They drew Franklin-Simpson first, and that is not a matchup they wanted out of the gate. Win that, probably Barren, just to get to Bowling Green. I don't know.....

One thing to note, Darrell Bowman was the only Central player to make the all-tournament team. All five Bowling Green starters made it, three from East (Britt, Satterfield, Strange), two from South (Gumm, Stacker), and two from Greenwood (Crump, Sanders). It was very strange to see a team that finished second in the regular season and second in the tournament to only be represented by one player. Unprecedented even.

Does the 14th district just do an all-tournament team or do they do a seasonal all-district as well? I've seen districts do seasonal only but never tournament only.

It may be for the full season. I think they can play fast and loose with the name, saying all tournament team when it is really based on the season. Central finished #2 in both.

I agree. That seems strange. It just seems like so much shade thrown at Central these days.

Something isn't right with that scenario. Down right fishy imo.
