Who guarded Beal from NDA?

 

Mainly Martin.... Miles was on her a few times.

McClendon had a break out layup and had 1 fg besides the throws at the end. I believe she was guarded by Hagen all game. She wasn't a factor on offense and is why Beal stepping up was huge.

I see 4-5 posts talking about Beal and how well she played. I also see posts about Baugh and Chames (not the stars either). So I'm not sure where you're going with this. If we were talking about all the stars, I think McClendon would be involved and no one has said a word about her. Are you just really referring to Martin getting some discussion?

 

Not at all, Beal was assigned to Martin for a reason. I'm referring to a statement that beal stepped up when others struggled.. And how it was more coaches rotation. Those comments were made after egs300 made a comment giving Beal credit for her performance. ... So I left the credit where I felt it was due with the original poster..

N2 my comments meant that no one else for HC could put the ball in the hole from the middle of the first quarter on, basically, besides Z. I love her game, you know that, and I was glad she was so assertive when no one else could score. Never intended to suggest she was a last resort or even a second or third option. She played well last night and HC doesn't win without her. I don't know how I could say anything more positively than that.

Next year HC will be even stronger

Sure hope that was a foul, but as bad as officiating has been this year I would bet that it is not. Is this the 8th grader that "moved" into the program this year?

And on the flip side Dajah McClendon held Hagen scoreless on the offensive end.

 

On a side note, I'm not sure why everyone gets so caught up in who gets the credit for this and credit for that or blame for this and that. Why can't it just be a good team win over a good team and who cares who gets their name mentioned. This is what really bothers me about high school sports today. The TEAM did a great job against Martin and the rest of the ND players and Holy Cross won the game as a TEAM, something some people say they haven't played much like this year. Maybe the tournament will bring out the best in them.

Heard a lot of people say it's been a down year for HC this year. After losing 4 really good seniors from the State Championship team, and you still go 15-10 in regular season playing a good schedule. Heck, I'll take that as a "down" year anytime. I give credit to the players and staff for keeping the momentum going after last year and losing who they lost.

yes she did and taking nothing away from Dajah McClendon as she knows Sophie has the utmost respect for her and the HC coaching staff, but holding Sophie scoreless in that offensive system isn't a shock. Actually scoring is. On to AAU where the green light is given to play basketball Best of luck to the Indians and I agree with the other post. Nice down year
