Cautious doesn't always equal great

Bulldogs' first-year coach likes to take chances

You have to throw caution to the wind to be great.

Or at least so believes first-year North Gwinnett football coach Bob Sphire.

He did as much turning Lexington Catholic High into a state power in Kentucky. Sphire doesn't figure to hold much back now with his highly successful spread offense as he assumes the reigns of a Bulldog program getting acclimated to its third coach in as many seasons.

I think he it won't take too long before he is a big time winner there. I wish him the best of luck. He is a great coach.

I would be willing to bet they won't give him 15 years to get the job done but he's a nice guy and I wish him good luck....

Not with the amount of athletes in Gwinnett Co. That's prime pickings right there. The spread will work wonders.

I have no doubt he will do great things there and is already missed here.

Different situation there that he had 15 years ago at Lex Cath.

At Lex Cath he started a football program whereas at North Gwinnett he steps into an established program and talent level probably close to what he had at Lex Cath in recent years.

I say give him 5 years and he will be knocking on the door of a Title in Georgia.
