There's a major difference between those two groups and these people, but hey, keep on with the awful comparison.

You're the one who said you wouldn't be against it.

So for discussion sake tell us why you are against saving the life of one who ODs on smack?

Because people in general suck. Society would be a hell of a lot better off without a lot of them. If someone wants to do drugs, be my guest. I think they should all be made legal. I'm just not going to waste resources to save people who do something with the expressed intent of causing harm to themselves.

Like driving while intoxicated?

Are you including drunk drivers and texters in that statement?

Did I quote drunk drivers and texters?

Because people in general suck. .

That declaration says a lot.

How is taking narcotics telling us they want to end their life?

What else are they trying to do?

How is taking narcotics telling us they want to end their life?

It is an implied stretch, but using opiates, KNOWING their addictive properties and the high probability of OD that goes along with heroine could lead some to see a user as someone not really valuing their life.

So then tell me why you think addicts, drunk drivers, and drivers who text are "trying to end their life."

I don't get why some are against saving the life of a person who ODs.

Should a paramedic stop life-saving procedures at the scene of an accident when they realize the injured was driving drunk? Texting while driving?

I think it's a lot different when you deal with it on a daily basis. Sometimes even an hourly basis and often times with people that have OD'd in the past. Then you have the same people committing other crimes to get money for their addiction. That's what fuels a lot of this.

Who do you think pays for all of these EMS runs and hospital visits? The heroin user with no job and no insurance?

Sure. Could. Key word.

Let's even say 50% of people who OD want to end their life. That's justification for not trying to save the other 50% who are just plain stupid?

Should we not use life-saving procedures on people who try to commit suicide?

So then tell me why you think addicts, drunk drivers, and drivers who text are "trying to end their life."

Did you give up reading comprehension for lent?

Good lord. Now we're saying don't save lives because they're not paying for their transport? Come on. We're better than that.

Did you give up reading comprehension for lent?

So clear it up for me. You did include drunks and texters in your quote. Just tell us why you believe anyone who does something stupid (and feel free to include whomever you wish) is trying to end their life.
