Do you mean the class is down, in numbers? I thought they had like 86 or 87 freshmen. How many do they usually get? I don't think they ever had a class over 100 in many, many years.

I don't want folks to take this the wrong way........

Amount of talented/impact players, like in the past.

NewCath also won 2 or 3 consecutive regional titles

and NewCath did not win another regional until about 2000.

73, 74, 75

Won the region in 84 (33-1 ranked#1 in the state going into the StateTournament.

.........let's not talk about what happened next) right @BIGBLUENATION

You are right! Forgot about that NewCath squad. Was that the infamous losing record team that beat them in the state? You are 100% right!

Did Wilfong lead NewCath to the baseball state title his senior year in the 70s? I can't remember? Know it's another sport, but Wilfong was also a great basketball player.

Yes, the Scott County led Frank Presley team

I had forgot about it. Talk about bad luck of the draw in the Sweet 16! Thanks for reminding me. I think :(

NewCath had a Pangallo (Jimmy?) leading that team, right? That was after the Cowens twins had graduated if I remember.

I believe they were state runner-up In 76

Wow! How did 32 years go by so fast! lol!

So let me get this straight....Just because its Ronnie Dawn's grandson he will be 6'6. Who is the Daddy and how tall is he? As far as Iles goes I know he has an Uncle on the mom's side who was 6'5 but not sure about the other side. There is already an Iles in 10th grade...is he expected to grow to 6'6 or is the height clearly set aside for the 6th grader. I'll hang up and listen.

So NCC has only won the 9th Region once since 1976? So in a 40 yr span only one time. That is hard to believe.
