Strangely enough, when I am feeling a little on the down side, I want to listen to sad songs. Maybe I want to be reminded that so many others have felt the same sadness that I feel. I really do love a good sad song and there have been many great ones.

I enjoy a song that you can feel, or have been able to feel in the past and often those are sad songs. So I'm with you.
