Congratulations are due to Trinity Director of Sports Ministry Mr. Steven Tompkins '81.

 

Tompkins will be inducted into the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame at a luncheon on held on Saturday, Jan, 16.

 

A longtime world language department member, Tompkins also served stints as coach of the Baseball and Golf Rocks, worked in Alumni Relations at Trinity, and has experience as a referee and umpire in the Commonwealth for many years.

 

"Awards like this are made possible because of all of the assistant coaches and the players who made my vocation that much easier, so I say thanks to all my coaches and former players," Tompkins said. "I want to give my extreme thanks to all those who worked alongside of me in molding the young men at Trinity into men of faith and character. You don’t coach for the individual awards, but to be even be mentioned with some of the great minds in Kentucky Baseball, this is quite an honor and I will cherish this award."

 

Founded in 1953, Trinity is an all-male Catholic high school with 1,200 students and more than 15,200 alumni. Trinity is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school, forming men of faith and men of character.

Thank you for posting, Guru. I've had the pleasure of knowing Steve for a long time. Big honor for him to be inducted into the HOF and he is serious when he talks about assistant coaches, school administrators and players all having a big hand in this award.

 

But, I'm forever thankful for the faith based work he is doing today - and the impact he is making on so many in and out of the classroom. My son had the pleasure of being around Steve in class and around school for 4 years. My boy has grown into a fine young man because of Steve and people like him around Trinity that put faith at the top of the priority list.
