A Tale of Two Halves, authored by the Mason County Royals and the Boone County Ethans...Rebels.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It ws the age of bricks, it was the age of treys.

Royals shot 0-8 from distance in the first half; Boone was able to run their sets and pound the ball inside for pretty much the entire first half. If not for Henry's spark, Mason would have scored a total of 2 points in the second quarter.

Royals hit shots in the second half and were able to press. Speeded Boone up and out of their comfort zone and outscored the Rebels 49-20 after halftime.

Pig Williams led four Royals in double figures with 23, including four threes after halftime. Garrison with 11, Williams and Sweeney with 10 each.

Mason County did a great job of adjusting their game at halftime. Pig looked like a different player after the half.

I noticed a big difference from 9th to 10th region on how tight the refs call a game. The 10th really lets them play hard. If that game was played in Florence tonight, there would have been about 20 more fouls called at the least.

Mason is just too dependent on Outside game. When bigs love shooting threes and leaving the paint to smalls you have a recipe for failure. Biggs will get this flipped, or Royals run might fail in the Igloo come late Feb.
