Apparently the elementary school play is being censored because it contains religious lines! When I first heard this story I thought it was a joke! The school was W.R Castle elementary in Johnson county Ky. The district decided to censor certain lines that made reference to Jesus.

FWIW, CBS almost didn't air it initially for the same reason. They were afraid in 1967 that it would offend people back then too...but relented and aired it any way.

This story was on line a few days ago...but I don't have the link

Ran over a rottweiler right in front of that school back in the day.
