Let DJ enjoy watching Stuart play! DJ has no designs on coaching KCC. Most of the negative stuff comes from people (for whatever reason), who don't care much about DJ! Pat Dad pretty much bashes every coach at KCC except the baseball coach. Go figure!

 

You have it wrong, there. I do not bash the coaches at KCC. I thought that Feltner was doing a great job. I do think that Beder is doing a very good job, at this point. And I hope that Amburgey will have success. The odds are against him, but.... As for the baseball coach, he's been there the longest(with the exception of those 2 years of that the baseball team suffered without him), had more success than any coach there put together, and has done more with less.

 

I do bash the KCBOE and the athletic director. Those are the problems that KCC have. I'd keep saying the same thing over and over, but it's like beating a dead horse, the dead horse doesn't care and I'm waisting my time hitting it.

If you are talking about DJ's son what special treatment....you think if any other coach in the region was coaching KCC .....Stewart wouldnt start? I would have to think he would. I have seen him play and I doubt that there is another team in the region he wouldnt start on or at least see some action...I heard from several people that Coach Amburgey had to discipline him this summer for whatever reason....doesnt sound like special treatment to me.....I think PATMAN says it best....just let him play and support the team or dont watch them

I'm not the one saying that. I think Stewart has some very good talent. No problem with him. I support the kids. That's it and nothing more.

The only thing wrong with KCC has nothing to do with players and coaches, it's the parents, grandparents and everyone else that has to put in their two cents... if they would just leave whoever is coaching alone, the school and teams would be a lot better off! Yeah most of them sit and watch the game while it's going on, but before and after they all have to try and tell these coaches what it is they should be doing! If they can't do the job, don't hire them, and since they have been hired, let them do THEIR job, if they need help from the parents i'm sure they will ask for it!

You are right, it has nothing to do with the players and coaches. And I will agree that some parents can be a thorn in one's backside. I have been asking one simple question for the past few years and no one wants to answer it. That question is, How can a program build itself when you have a coaching change every two years? I know the answer and so doesn't everyone else. Those in charge want to sugar coat it and say that changes needed to be done. If I am not mistaken Honeycutt and Feltner, both, left on their own. Neither one was fired. Neither one could take the pressure. Not from the parents. But, from someone else. You play this person or else. You play that person, or else. And don't even get me started on the, I'll not say, they hired before Beder. Hiring Beder is the only thing they have done right in the past 4 years. Leave the coaches alone and let them do their thing. If the team isn't gelling in 3-4 years, then let 'em go. Give the coach a chance. Sheesh!

Totally agree, 2 years is just enough time to get everyone interested in what a coach is wanting to do, then they should give him 2 more years to see if his stuff is working out with the program! 4 years should be minimum unless you are having a major problem with a coach. They just want a yes man that they can tell what to do, and when they go and try to do what is right or buck against certain people, they show them the door OR THEY MAKE IT SO BAD ON THEM THEY HAVE TO LEAVE! Not a good reputation for a school to have! No wonder no one with experience will apply, they know going in it's only for 2 years.
