December 11, 201510 yr Author 4 is the right amount...no matter how many get in there will be fans of teams that just missed getting in wanting it to expand. When we have 5 or 6 teams with legit complaints with missing the final four then I'll listen to expanding it...as long as there are never automatic qualifiers. Stanford, Ohio State, and Iowa all have legit complaints this year. I don't care about automatic qualifiers, I want the best teams to have a chance to win the championship. Anybody who doesn't think Stanford and Ohio State could win this year is just in denial of reality.
December 11, 201510 yr Man I couldn't have imagined what it was like on here when Bama and LSU rematched for the national champ. Or are only the second place SEC teams good enough to be in? Right? Give me a break. Rabble. Rabble. Yawn. Win your league, play a quality OOC and earn a shot. Slip up along the way? Too bad...

December 11, 201510 yr Four is infinitely better than the BCS system. I think an eight team playoff is too many and we'd still have the same arguments ("Look at the strength of schedule of #10 and their only two losses came early in the season, come on!"). Six might be the Goldilocks number with two byes for the top seeds.

December 11, 201510 yr Author Rabble. Rabble. Yawn. Win your league, play a quality OOC and earn a shot. Slip up along the way? Too bad... Remind me which one of those didn't win their conference. I'll be waiting... Remind me again how many losses all those teams have, and how many Ohio State has? Can you definitively say that all of those teams are better than Ohio State, Stanford, Iowa, ND, UNC, FSU? I know I can't. I'll even go as far to say I'll give you those 4 teams and I'll take the rest of the top 10 to find a champion. Look at Ohio State last year and look at what TCU did to Ole Miss last year. Obviously Ohio State should have been in since they won, but TCU should have too, and Baylor and Mich St. should have too. At the end of the year the 2 best teams were Ohio State and TCU and only 1 got the chance to prove it. So in the first 3 years of 4 teams we have at least 3 teams sitting at home thinking they deserve a shot at winning a national championship. But please tell me how this 4 team playoff is so great. I'll think you all are so caught up with this being better than what we had, but why settle for simply better? We had to suffer through years of the BCS system because people were just happy that it was better than what we had. Why make the same mistake twice? Yeah if we have 8 teams, the 9 and 10 teams will argue they should be in, but they won't be as valid as the arguments for the teams being left out right now. I have still yet to hear a rational reason to keep it at 4 teams, other than you simply like it better. If you just like the thought of 4 teams fine, but at least acknowledge that the best way to declare a champion would be with 8 teams.

December 12, 201510 yr Author We get it. You are a disgruntled OSU fan upset that you didn't get in this time. Yawn. Next... I said at this time last year that's it bull crap that TCU and Baylor don't get to play for a national champ too. I wasn't complaining that OSU got in obviously, but there wouldn't have even been a discussion about who got in last year cause they all would have gotten in. I'll take the national title from last year and be perfectly content, but I want one this year too. I absolutely am a disgruntled Ohio State fan, since when did being a fan of a team become a sin? I want what's best for my team always, who doesn't. But this is about what's best for college football, not only for my team. Still nobody has answered my question about what is better about 4 than 8. But yeah just keep saying that I'm a disgruntled OSU fan, like everyone doesn't already know this.
