Austin Dotson and Jordan Scott are big time. The way Dotson moves I would be all over him if I were a recruiter. 6'6 275, athletic, and mean.

The above video is focused on a Russell player, but big #61 for Belfry really caught my eye during the second play of the highlight. He attempts a cut block, springs back to his feet and out runs all of his teammates(including the skill kids) down field looking for another block. Very impressive.

That is pretty impressive. That's Austin Dotson. He is 6'5, maybe 6'6, and considers himself a baseball player.

 

But he plays a pretty mean tackle for a junior.

I know Doteon loves baseball but you simply can't teach that! That is a 6'7 275 linemen moving like that. That is simply freakish athleticism

 

I wish he had highlights posted because that's not even indicative of what he does best. He is nasty at the LOS and is constantly pancaking people and getting in front of the play with key blocks.

 

If I am a college scout I am all over him. You put 25 more pounds of muscle on that frame and you have a prototype LT

Something I have learned about KY High school football players is that most scouts are a little timid about offering a scholarship to a young man facing KY competition. Before you answer with naming names that have been offered, I'm speaking on a kid who didn't go to a camp and set the event on fire. I love the eye test of game film to determine a young players potential, I don't think recruiting coordinators have the time to watch every kids film. They come to camps or host camps to try to get all the players in one place at one time then select from there. It's flawed because not everyone can travel or afford to make it to these events but that's how you get your name on the college radar.

 

Belfry has players!! In the trenches they are extremely good. They go 110% until the officials are blowing the play over. Gotta love it.

Great article. I do love watching Belfry' s offense. They remind me a little of the old Nebraska teams of the 90's that dominated teams with their offensive line. I liked it better though when Belfry lined up under center. Does anyone know why they go out of the shotgun now?

I think that is what had confused me. I knew they had changed something. Regardless, I love watching their offense. They have it down to a science and yes the offensive line and coaches are awesome to watch.
