Owensboro 37 Henderson County 7

Good win going in to the playoffs for OHS.Defense was stout the whole night. Hendo had Carter and that was pretty much it,you cant beat good teams with one threat.

Red Devils. Purples respect you guys. We believe in our boys but know that week 3 will be tough. Great seaon. See you in a few weeks. Much respect!

Devils defense great tonight. Big opening return set up Hendersons only score which came on a 4th and goal. Nice to see Tavian Board back. Oboros speed is unreal, in backfield all night. Crowe and Mundy off the edge. Board the RB was great, great blocking. Walker and James great catches and great defense by them in secondary. Carter for Henderson stuffed all night, 1 nice run late in 4th that set up OHS defense hold near goal line. OHS plays like that and anyone will have a tough time.

Carter got 152!!! He needs just 103 to get to 4,000 for his career.

Carter 36 carries for 152 according to Hendo paper (1 big run of around 50). Hendo with only 192 yds of offense.

Oboro with 324 yds, 186 yds off 27 carries with 2TDs for Board he was a man again tonight.

Hendo coach says OH?S controlled line of scrimmage.

I agree Brown, Tavian was in beast mode tonight .I like the way they brought pressure up the middle and outside, gave Hendo a lot problems .

First off, I'm glad my prediction was wrong. OHS didn't play well last week against Graves, and I was afraid it'd carry over to this week. Henderson was finally healthy and there was a recipe for an upset.

OHS was having none of it.

After a great opening kickoff return deep into OHS territory, Henderson punched it in on Damian Carters 1 yard plunge on 4th and 1. After that, OHS basically shut down Hendersons offense. I love the pressure that OHS brought by blitzing the linebackers. Tavian Board was a beast and Malik Mundy had a pick six. Carter from Henderson took some shots tonight but to his credit he still finished with 150 yards. All in all, a solid defensive effort from the Devils. OHS does need to shore up their kick coverage. Henderson had too many yards on returns.

Offensively OHS was solid. OHS qb Zach Gross did a good job of managing the offense. He kept some on the zone read which provided a ton of running room. He thew some good balls but I'd like to see him hit that dee ball to Barrett when Jahlil was behind the Henderson d. I thought the pass to Tavian on 4th and 5 was nice as well as the touchdown pass to Kishawn Walker. Landon Board was his steady and explosive self with 187 yards.

OHS played a good game tonight and they need to keep the business mindset moving forward. This team has a chance to win state but they have to approach every week equally. Next up, Grayson County.
