Park at Garzelle's and have a pre game drink of your choice and some good pizza/grinder to "fuel " up for the walk.

 

That's my method of choice.

For what it's worth I was told that for Thursday evening, that the Dixie Marching Band moved their practice over to Scott HS in order to make available more parking on campus. Thank you to the band and band parents. At Dixie, they are as much a "varsity sport" as the rest.

And again, villa's facilities were fine - they just don't have lights so move on and get over it already

The last District volleyball final I went to had about 20 people at it. Soccer doesn't draw much better. Don't blame others for your parking problems.

A mile, really? Google maps shows that a mile's distance from Dixie HS on Dixie Highway would be on the other side of I-275 past Crestview Town Center and closer to Barleycorn's. Is this where you parked? You walked down Dixie Highway from the other side of I-275??

Love to walk. Absolutely one of my favorite activities. I don't know about you, but I have to get out of my car to walk. That requires parking said car in a legal parking spot. This is a problem if a large portion of the parking lot is blocked off for the marching band to practice.

Parking is one thing, but not having lights, for games played outside, during a time of the year when its dark out, thats a bigger issue. Im not knocking villa, they dont have lights its known. Im knocking those who allowed a site to host districts that did not have lights.

Colonels hosted without lights and no issues.....what time did the games start?

Ok what felt like a mile to me was closer to a half mile. Over in the Town Center. Its easy to claim walking is no problem but when your walking with back issues then that is a problem. As far as Dixie having enough parking an hosting two big events like that then you must have had a close spot because they were parked at K-Mart, the town center with me and in the neighborhood next to Dixie. I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean they have enough parking to host two things at once.

 

Also, I applaud the band for moving their practice for the other events.
