Very well played and officiated game last night at Tower Park.

 

Goal came with under 5 minutes left in the first half when there was a handling of the ball about 5 yards outside of the box. St. Henry originally had 3 in the wall, but the Coach pulled one and the left footed shot by NCC (sorry, don't have the number or name) bent around the wall and found the back of the next.

 

Both sides threatened.....NCC had one off the post and one off the cross bar......

 

Congrats to both teams.....St. Henry, hopefully the pain is short lived and you celebrate the successful season you had.........

Goal was by Taylor Tolle and I believe it made her the all time leading scorer for the Lady Breds. She is just a junior so she has another year to add to that total. Her brother Matthew was a very good player for NCC (might have been regional MVP in 2011) as well.

If she was allowed to have the third person that goal would have been a little more difficult. Can't believe the coach over ruled here decision on having 3.

From these photos looks like the free kick was taken from approximately 22 yards out and just a little off center of the goal, unbelievable St Henry only had two players in the wall. It looks like the wall would call for at least 4 maybe 5 players.

4 or 5 definitely but coach has done this for awhile. I am sure he knows his team better than us.

Tolle is the real deal. Bent that ball perfectly into the corner. 22 yards out and the keeper can't get a hand on it. She is the OPOY hands down.

I trust the goalie who is on the field and can see what she needs. From where the kick was there was no doubt she was going for the goal and not putting in the box for a set play. In my option dropping the extra player from the wall did nothing but give the kicker a better view and more goal to shoot at. Just my opinion.
