October 11, 201511 yr I need some help from BGP nation with regards to CinBell Fioptic TV. For the 4th day now I have an HD channel, 529 ESPN2, that has the same feed as the non HD ESPN2 channel 29(black bar at top and bottom of picture and it looks blurry and stretched). This problem is the same on all TVs in the house. I called my son yesterday and asked him if he had the same issue and he did. However later in the day he told me his channel 529 was now back to normal HD. I have called CinBell for assistance three times, talked to someone each time with so heavy of an accent I could barely understand, and three times I was told a Technical person would contact me later in the day and I have yet to get one phone call. Is anyone else who subscribes to CinBell Fioptic TV service experiencing the same issue with ESPN2 channel 529? Does anyone know who I could call up the ladder with this company that could help me, preferably someone who actually speaks English and could possibly be in Cincinnati metro or the US?
October 11, 201511 yr Experiencing the same at my house and my girlfriends place with ESPN2 And everything about Cincinnati Bell's customer service and technical support is beyond terrible.
October 12, 201511 yr Author Experiencing the same at my house and my girlfriends place with ESPN2 And everything about Cincinnati Bell's customer service and technical support is beyond terrible. You folks live in Cincy or NKY? Did you call the service number? If so, what did they tell you? I STILL have not been contacted by a "senior agent" of technical support. Tomorrow will be day 5 of this saga. I'm beginning to wonder if Cincinnati Bell actually does exist.
October 12, 201511 yr Author Insist on talking to someone in the Cincinnati office. ^Did. I was handed off to someone else who spoke English with an accent I could hardly understand which is why I asked, does Cincinnati Bell really exist any more?
October 12, 201511 yr Try rebooting your box(es). Unplug or turn off power supply to them, let sit for a few minutes, and turn back on. Has worked on various problems for me with their service.
October 12, 201511 yr Author Try rebooting your box(es). Unplug or turn off power supply to them, let sit for a few minutes, and turn back on. Has worked on various problems for me with their service. Tried it 3 times. The issue is affecting all the TVs/DVRs in my house so the issue is really not on my end. As another BGP member noted, he and a friend are experiencing the same thing. But I appreciate the help. Also, still waiting on someone to call me....day 5. Sorry YPuig the following has nothing to do with your post, I just thought I'd piggyback another adventure where I could. I'll also have another issue to add, I know this just keeps getting better. I have internet, landline and TV service with CinBell. On my phone part of the bill it showed a $7.88 fee for a "local" call. The number was for Schneller Heating and Cooling. We have an older disabled person that lives with us. She was calling Schneller and she could not hear the call ringing. She called the number three times and each time, she heard no ringing. She then pressed "0" for operator and asked if the number she was calling was still in service because she was not hearing anything when she called it. Next thing she knew the operator connected her with Schneller H&C. She wasn't asked if she wanted to be connected, wasn't told there was a charge. In my opinion CinBell or whoever handles their calls now, just went ahead and did this just to get the fee. They knew they had an older person on the phone and took advantage of the situation. A damn crime!
October 12, 201511 yr No issues on our sreen. I did have to call Cinti Bell twice on Saturday on other issues. One they handled like pros and the other was a frustrating nightmare. Got it resolved but sure raised the blood pressure. Really had a tough time following some of the conversations. Had to ask them to repeat a lot of things.
October 12, 201511 yr Cincinnati Bell is atrocious, and their service sucks. Do yourself a favor and switch to Directv or cut the cord and go with an internet option.

October 12, 201511 yr Author I didn't even know that was a thing any more. You can press "0" and get an operator? Ha! yeah, I didn't know it was still available either. In order to deal with someone regarding the charge on the bill. I had to call another outfit called USBI to which CinBell has farmed out some of their phone services. It's a doggone joke. I'm telling you, Cincinnati Bell only exists on paper and is a title of a web site. The Cincinnati Bell I grew up with does NOT exist.
October 12, 201511 yr I'm in Northern Kentucky. I haven't called about it but ESPN 2 is still in standard def. Cable went out yesterday on the Bengals game winning drive, came back on 5 min later after the winning FG went in.
October 13, 201511 yr Author FINALLY, my ESPN2 is back to high def. When a "senior tech" person called me yesterday to say a tech guy would be here today, she said it was not on ESPN's end. However, she also told me several folks in my neighborhood had reported the same issue. She then said it could be a problem "at a box or hub for the neighborhood." There were two CinBell Fioptic trucks in the neighborhood today. When they called about 11am we told them the issue still existed. When the "tech repair" guy got to my house, he came in and we remoted to ESPN2 and SURPRISE it was now high def!! I asked if he did anything to the "neighborhood hub" and he said he did not. However we noticed another Fiop truck earlier on my street a couple of times. I told him for 5 days the ESPN2 feed was in standard def and I asked the folks to check with ESPN to see if they were having trouble with the feed. They told me they did and there was no problem on ESPN end. I'm thinking the earlier Fiop tech repaired something in the neighborhood and my Fiop tech guy had no idea. Communication, a wonderful thing if you utilize it. By the way, the Fiop truck guy tells me when we call for trouble, 99% of the time we are talking to someone in the Phillipines. Thanks for everyone's suggestions and info! Edited October 13, 201511 yr by OlDog75
