What's the best goal you've seen this year?

Featured Replies

I saw a goal at bluegrass that was pretty amazing. I was there for another team but a kid from Cooper (I'm thinking #9) hit a volley from about 35 out. The best part about this was his set up touch. The ball was cleared out by a defender and he took it off his chest to a volley that made everyone's jaw drop.

Saw another goal by Dunbar while there as well. Ball was played through to the striker for a one on one, the keeper made the correct decision coming out and the kid at full speed chipped the keeper. It wasn't a blast but the skill it took to finish a shot like this impressed me.

I have heard of that kid from Cooper ?

Dogget from HC had a free kick that scored and won the game against Conner. Hit underside of the bar and bounced down.

Snow free kick from 35 yards out against Highlands.

Kick was played around the left side of the wall, sending the goalie to his right (near post). The ball had enough bend on it that the goalie had to dive back in the other direction, he could not recover in time to keep it from going just inside the far post.

Your comments reminded me of a similar account of the goal, given by Sir! I had to dig it up because the onion bag reference is classic...

Maybe ten yards inside the midfield line... chest trap to volley and driven ball dips over keeper's outstretched hands and into the back of the onion bag. Did anyone else see that wonder - strike today?

Adam Snow... Cooper over Sayre. A bee-yute.

David Ibrahimkadic from Louisville Butler vs. Fern Creek. 30 yards out on a full run. Laced the ball and hit the upper right V. Magesterial!!!

Yeah I didn't know the kids name, I haven't been back in the area long but wow what a shot. My youngest was tossing the ball to himself the next day trying to mimic the goal. It was a doozie

Best one I have seen in the post season....

Very nice! You originally said "side-volley" I think and I had a different mental image. That looks like a half-volley catching the ball on the short hop just as it comes off the ground. A lot of finesse and composure to get the ball to bend/dip like that with a half volley on the turn! Glad the boy will be around to watch again next year!

This forum is very northern kentucky heavy, and there are many fine players. My perspective comes from central kentucky. The best goalies I have seen are Shuler from Dunbar, Goodman from Sayre, and Batman from Woodford. Gallagher from KCD (Louisville) is outstanding.

I think you misread the title of this thread and the comments being made, goals.... not goalies.

But since you brought up goalies....

I saw Shuler last season, not real familiar with him but he must be a good one because I like Josh Szydlik who is playing behind him at Dunbar.

The goal mentioned in post #14 was against Sayre, not saying he isn't a good one, just makes this goal even better if it was scored against a quality goalie.

Really like Batman, saw him play 3 times this season, he seemed like a really good kid too.

Cole Gallagher might be my favorite on your list. First saw him almost 4 years ago, kinda small for a goalie but he has no problem covering the posts. I have not seen him play in almost a year, I think it was last December in Florida, really like how he plays and does a great job of running things in the back.

Surprised you did not mention Muse from Male.

Muse is very good as well, but never saw him this year. Had a son on team with Goodman, Shuler would practice with them some. Won 3 straight state championships with LFC. Played against Batman this year, and he is good. And Gallagher was runner up twice. Having said that, my bad for posting in wrong thread. My eyes starting to play tricks on me!:lol2:
