But no credit to Ryle's D. They have been a 2nd half D just about every game this season. Listen, I give Cooper all the respect in the world. They are stout up front on the O and D lines. Great athletes, very, very dangerous. Nathan Brown is playing great, he's another great athlete. But it kind of sounds like you are looking past Ryle. Trust me, Ryle is not looking past Cooper. The coaches are too good to do that. They are too good to look past George Roger's Clark.

Trust me, I'm in no way looking past Ryle. Actually before the season started the 3 games I wanted cooper to win the most were against HHS, SK and Ryle. I have Ryle #2 behind SK with Cooper 2b. It's a huge game.

 

There are however some Ryle fans already talking about WHEN they play SK for the regional title. That is what I call overlooking Cooper.

You keep talking about the defense of Cooper. They're nothing special. I'm clearly not a fan of LC but they had 2 of their best O lineman missing with concussions. Also a backup QB. LC couldn't get anything going on offense, but that was because they were missing players, not because Cooper is so great. Also, LC defense played exceptionally well. Don't count out LC. A great team and we're not counting them out in Danville.

I'm talking about their defense because of what they have done this season. They held SK to a season low, they held LC to negative rushing yards last night. You may not be impressed with them but that non impressive defense just shut out the same LC team you called a great team to end your post. So sorry you're not impressed, I am.

Hopefully this will answer some questions about Cooper's defense. They put on a clinic tonight as well as proved they do belong in the top 3 in NKY rankings if not #2 behind SK.

I understand what you're trying to say but if you actually saw the game you would understand how dominating a defensive game it really was. Remember their backup QB still had around 300 yards passing last week. There was no one that would

Have been successful running Friday night.

 

Not saying Cooper is or will always be like that defensively but it was just that special night that happens once in a lifetime for a team.

 

They were just that dominate. It was just something that needed to be seen in person I guess to understand. When a team can only muster 60 something yards of total offense which includes 9 yards on the ground, it just makes it hard to believe anyone would have made that much of a difference that night.

I was not at the game but I believe the LexCath injury report included:

 

- Legend Brumbaugh

- Jaylen Jones with cast on normal carrying hand - this has been status since start of regular season.

- Colin Carpenter - senior lineman (concussion recovery).

 

But this was the same list as the previous week against Madison Central.

 

Assuming the play calling was similar then this would indicate it was the defense that made the difference.

 

I would say Cooper has a real soiid D and probably did some good scouting on LexCath as well.
