They lost 2 seniors Parker and Mayes who supplied quality minutes off the bench for the lady bulldogs! Lost a great shooter in Parker!

They also lost Hannah Tubbs - who transferred back to Norwood for I believe family reasons! Tubbs had an impact on the team, very good player, but towards the end of the season with her knee injury she didn't make much of an impact as before!

Holmes returns basically everyone, they will be a great team! I can see #3 Johnson stepping up and filling in the shoes of Tubbs. But we shall see.

Male is good but I don't think there the best team in state. Mercy is no way close to being a top 10 ranked team they are not a top 25 team.

Butler will be good but Bullitt east should be ranked a head of them also Eastern will be good but not as good as east and butler. Sacred heart will better than mercy. and I don't think sacred heart is close to being a top 10 team. Just my opinion.

Great points. They are going to be very good...don't get me wrong. But they lose their two best shooters and it will be interesting how they adjust to teams that "pack it in" on them and don't turn the ball over. They can cause chaos in a hurry, but if you can contain that, I think that's their only Achilles heal without the great shooters. If they hit shots and you have to go out, they may be un-guardable as a team.

I also agree and think the sophomore Johnson has a great year. I love to watch her play. But again, she is a "get to the basket" type player. I know she's working on her outside shot and if she figures that out, she has potential to be unreal.

Would someone from the 9th region area give us their top 5 in the 9th this season.

I am sticking with my 1-8, after that I didnt know Mercy had a major injury that stinks for her. Henderson had a great team last year/injury's killed them late in the year, didnt know what they lost off that team. I was going off last years team, Male making the final 4 and losing no pieces is why I put them there. They are big and quick, have a great shooter. I do think you can put Etown at #1 pretty easy as well, Boley is special.

Dont think that Bullitt East has the size to beat them, they have a great player in Duvall just not enough. Butler can strategize and beat them, as a matter of fact I think they beat them this summer, not sure on that. Eastern is loaded as well, especially with the transfers,

I'll give it a shot. I will do this with the footnote that after the top 3, any of the rest of those teams are capable to putting together a very good year. A lot of them have some tools in place and good coaching, just more question marks than the top 3 at this point.

1) Holmes

2) Highlands

3) Ryle

4) Conner

5) ND

6) NCC

7) HC

8) Beechwood

9) Cooper

10)Boone

11) Dixie

12) St. Henry

Do not count out Bullitt East..they are well coached and all their kids usually play ther roles very well...I agree Butler has the most talent, but they had chemistry issues last year and it came back to haunt them at the end of the year

RCC9 usually knows his stuff when it comes to the ninth region...But it looks to be very well balanced

Thank you! This year is tough though. The reason being...there is soooo much youth being introduced into all the programs. It really depends on how that youth handles it. The top three are there because they have proven themselves over the last couple years with the talent they will be putting on the floor this year. But I'm telling you, this region has a ton of potential coming up and any of those top 7-9 teams could do some damage and you better not overlook any of them. You're right, a lot of potential balance in this region this year. Holmes could have been the favorite to run away with it. But with the loss of Tubbs, that brings them back a little closer to the pack. I still think they have to be the favorite though.

You have Henderson in the right spot. They lost three starters but got back the two staters they lost to injury last year. And return two starters that took their spots. They have 4 guards and two post players and the coach will always have a few good players to add.

Is this the same team that has had 3 coaches in 4 years? Could have something to do with a team not playing to their potential.

I'm not being negative here. I have many parent friends at Ryle and my daughter has many friends on team. The talent level at Ryle and Cooper is like night and day and Imo Ryle has underachieved with this group for whatever reason, I hope they put it together this year for this group of seniors. Ryles goal should be make it to state, Coopers goal will be a winning record. Good luck Raiders and Jags!

Henderson Co comes to BE on Dec 11.
