IMO Sneed and Klei could take most of the players on this teams place. Sad to hear that neither one of these great players weren't chosen to represent the junior all stars because thats exactly what they are.

I wouldn't exactly say take their place but there are at least 4, 9th region juniors who could be put on that list and be as good or even better than the list you have now. The point I am bringing up is no one was even asked from up here or for that matter even considered.

And once again no one from 9th region even asked to attend. Talk about getting slighted.

Saw the Klei girl play last Saturday in the Junior NKY east-west allstar game and I can say she pretty much single handedly won the game for her team.. Very very talented player..

 

Just a side note..Mindy Merritt is from Bellevue but still to not take Sneed or Klei is ridiculous.

Coach Helton was asked to coach the team and have the game at Scott County. As a courtesy, he was allowed to choose 6 players. I'm unsure how the process went for the remaining 8 players. I'm assuming the Lions Club had something already in place when they requested the game. But again, I'm just not sure.

How do you know they weren't asked?

I've talked to both personally and they were not asked that is Klei or Sneed I am referring to.

I believe Coach Helton And Jim Underwood put this team together.

Was there myself, my daughter played in the game also but on the losing end she was #25. Klei did have a good game, but they would never have been close if it were not for Merritt.

If i'm not mistaken #25 Jackie Hicks led the West team in scoring but Firth was nominated the MVP for the West. Shannon Klei led the East team to the victory by scoring 10 points in the 4th quarter. Merrit ended up with 9 points and a huge steal to seal the game.

Merritt obviously scores a lot of points because she is so much taller then all the other girls but the best athlete on the floor that night was Klei and it was not even close. Down the stretch IMO she won the game with her hustle and several steals and shooting both inside and out..She is quite a player.

Imagine if the East squad had Sneed on there as well they would of had a dominant trio in Klei, Merrit, and Sneed. Klei has really improved this offseason and i'm sure she'll do great things her senior year with the Breds.

The Sr. All-Stars won by about 25 points. It was close at half time (within a couple of points). But the juniors decided that they did not want to play team ball. No passing to the open person. The main person dishing it out was Emily London, but she played less than half the game. She has great court vision and was able to find the open person.

 

#1 Arnika Brown for the Seniors was unreal last night. Great hustle and great player. Wished I could have seen her play more in high school.

 

Don't understand the substitution patterns for the juniors. One set of five would play for 8-10 minutes and then there were a mass substitution and they played for 8-10 minutes. The ones on the bench were cold when they came in and the coach did not always put the players that played well together in at the same time.
