Everyone putting up close scores, I believe most are being politically correct. If this game plays out like it should, it will be somewhat of a blowout (4 scores +).

I actually agree with you that if OHS plays to their potential that this game won't be close. However, OHS has turned the ball over multiple times every game this year so there is no reason to believe they won't continue to turn it over. That is what will probably keep DC in the game. When the turnovers come, hopefully OHS will have moved the ball and not give DC great field position. OHS turned the ball over twice inside BG's 30 last week, so those turnovers weren't as costly as they could've been.

Part of my prediction my be slightly political, but I think DC is ultra prepared and fired up for this game. Everyone at DCHS believes they can win the game. It'll be up to OHS to come out and crush their beliefs from the get go. The longer DC hangs around Friday night, the more dangerous the game gets for OHS.

This game will come down to what it normally does. Can Daviess Co. contain Owensboro's speed. Many years the Panthers have come in to this game flying high. Only to have Owensboro break a long run and heads start to hang. Almost like "Here we go again!" Do the Panthers truly believe they can win this year?!?! Should be a good one. I like the Red Devils 35-17.

I think it ends up being a close game because OHS's has not proven to me that they can be explosive yet. They are still finding their way and have made a ton of mistakes through the first 4 games. Between turnovers and penalties, they have shot themselves in the foot. IF, they were to clean those things up and take care of the ball and Gross takes a step forward(as i suspect he is going to take several small steps as the season goes along), this could be a 3-4 touchdown win for OHS. However, i dont think that will be the case Friday night. I still see an OHS team finding their way through a new offense with a new QB facing a team that is hungry to make an impression, not just locally, but on a state level. Make no mistake about it, DC is going to be a prepared football team. Coach Brannon has done a good of a job with the Panthers as any coach for any program in the state through the first month. Its going to come down to execution for DC. They will need to be near perfect to pull the upset. One area i differ a lot with DC fans is, i dont think they have a shot at running the ball on that Devil's front seven. I know LeCroy has been a monster early on, but like Rambo said, they havent seen a front like OHS is going to bring on Friday. Good news for DC is, they have a more than capable passing game and i expect Bouchard to be able to throw it around a little bit. I cannot wait to call this game.

I looked at the stats from last year, which was a 39-7 OHS victory:

OHS had a TD or 2 called back

DC lone TD was a gift fumble return by the DC defense (unforced fumble)

DC had 44 yds rushing, 108 passing

Barrett was all over the place

OHS had 4 TD's passing and 2 rushing (and yes Nick Locher is gone)

DC is much improved no doubt, I think they will battle every play - new coach has done a great job

OHS is much improved on defense, not as good yet on offense

Again, I think field position will be key for DC to have any chance.
