Northern Kentucky Coaches All-Star Teams

Featured Replies

I think Ben Kuebbing Craig Shanks and Jeff Grieme Maybe even Nick Ryan are very deserving from St. Hanks

And would you agree that if they played for Beechwood, or Brossart or another A team that at least one would make the list.

The Kid I was reffering to hitting .454 in the paper was Craig Shanks

And I dont really agree with the whole "If they played at a better A school they would be an all star", simply because Muth Curley Neumann and Sawyer have been some of the best talent in the 9th for a while. They deserve it

What I do disagree with is how someone like Curley can get MVP and the all star award for third base and Same story with Farris i think gettin MVP should be enough give someone else the award for third and catcher

Idk, I have only seen them play a few times and all in all I was not that impressed. Maybe I just caught them on a few bad occasions. No doubt they put up good numbers. Maybe I'm just to nice in general, but in my opinion an all star team should have at least a player or more from every team in class A, AA etc. That way every team would have a representative, perhaps however that isnt exactly what this All-Star team was made for.

What players do you think should represent these other schools?

Shanks from St. H, Herbstreit from Villa, Driffmeyer for Lloyd, Atkins from Newport,

Any A Schools left out

VMA - your kindness is noted and appreciated. No problems with the intent.

However, the team is to be comprised of the best players. Period. If Beechwood's 9 were the best at every position, I'd expect all 9 to be named.

Umm that pretty much covers the teams i think. Good bunch of kids, but im not sure if there really as good as the Curleys and Muth and those guys

It is a good bunch of kids, no doubt some great players... perhaps you are right cshs81, We will most likely get to see once regionals roll around!

As I have posted, I have seen most of the teams play this year, and I believe the Coaches really nailed it down. I personally would have picked Andrew Blazejewski from CovCath as POY in the large school division, simply because his team played a much tougher schedule than did Ferris Boone County team, but I have no problem with Ferris being the POY, but I love the way Blazejeski swing the bat. My surprise was that one or the other from St. Henry (Ben Kuebbing or Craig Shanks) didn't make it.

As VMABaseball06 stated so well, "we will most likely get to see once regionals roll around". Should be some great games and I just don't understand why can't stagger the games out so the fans can see some great baseball High School this coming week.

I also would like to point out that this wasn't a 9th Region Coaches all star team but a Northern Kentucky Coaches all star team. A lot of spots taken from at least the AA team, were from players and the coach from outside the 9th Region.

I know that some schools didnt get anyone, and i have watched Newport and before Atkins got hurt, i think he was as good as any of the other kids that made it.(imo) But i know their schedule didnt help him, but maybe the injury did. But i know some will not agree, or even think he should have been. But anyway congrats to the ones that were picked.

Best 9 make it - period. Now with that said, I think coaches vote on who stood out when they played against that player. Chances are, you did not get to see everyone that was nominated. At that point, you have to either go on the stats in the paper or popularity. Winning the All A State Title nails down the popularity. If you don't see BW, you certainly read about them.

Parrott and Elliott made the team from SK. Second year in a row for Parrott, and second year for Elliott, who made it as a pitcher and outfielder.

Im curious on how Bush, the pitcher from Scott, made the first team all-AA?

What i don't get is why does Elliot take up two spots on the team. As a pitcher and an outfeilder. He might be good at both but why cant they do one or the other and give someone else the spot.
