Hmm... Another PK for St. Henry... someone will get a bit of a bad reputation for falling/flopping in the box if not careful. I saw that call last night. Clearly not a PK.

 

I agree, not a PK. There were a few calls that went our way that had me thinking that if we were on the road I would accuse the other team of some good home cooking. SH player definitely did not flop. He tripped over Henry Clay player after the ball had cleared. When the calls are going your way you smile and thank the soccer gods for their generosity. I haven't seen a team yet turn down a penalty kick because the ref made a bad call. Henry Clay looked really fast. I couldn't imagine how fast they play on turf.

Not true. A player for Scott was given a pk and a defender quickly yellow carded only to have the kid from Scott tell the CR he just tripped. The card was rescinded and no pk. I heard this second hand but I do admire the sportsmanship.

There is also video of this happening in a professional game. I believe it was the Bundesliga.

That's good to hear. I personally have never seen it and it would take a lot of guts to do something like that.

I noticed that 2 fine players from Henry Clay are on the All American watch list. Congrats to them.

Was not at the game but heard Henry Clay had 7 yellow cards.

Both Rose and Aime have committed to UK next year. It's a long line of D1 kids that come from a good club program and play at Henry Clay. Chris Hunt is another D1 prospect. From a talent stand point there's not a team that is close to their level. I'm not saying they are the best team but certainly the most talented.

What difference what class the state championship is it in? Does that make it any less impressive? There are several single a teams that compete very well with the bigger schools in soccer. And in other sports easily beat the larger schools .My guess is that child only plays one sport. I know several kids that play multiple sports and have won state titles in them in the same year.

I am not seeing anything in this thread that is putting a big school against a little school spin on the match... just a good win for the Cru. I am not following your comments about a kid only playing one sport!?!?!?

Sorry bout the one kid thing but why would it bother anyone when someone has a state champ ring when it's for a class specific sport .

I do not think post #12 was meant to take anything away from smaller schools, to me, it actually seems like a sarcastic remark, nothing serious. The comments also appear to be about the All A and not classes such as A, AA, and AAA like you seem to be comparing it with.
