Villa 8 Ludlow 2 (34th District)

Featured Replies

First of all congrats to Villa on a great win... Villa did everything today they needed to win the game, while Ludlow did everything they could to lose today...I didn't show up until about the 4th inning I believe when it was 4 to 1 Villa. But I was told a lot of those runs Villa got was because of poor defense. In the top of the 7th when Villa scored 4 more runs I dont believe any of them were earned. Ludlow had a throwing error on the first batter, and then a past ball. Then Ludlow had 2 more errors on bunts, and one of them they threw to first and no one was even there.

So this game was a lot closer than the score appears. Ludlow had their chances on offense but just could not doing anything with it. The umpire didn't seem to like to call strikes on curve balls for either team. The difference was that Ludlow kids kept chasing the curve balls even though they weren't getting called for strikes, while the Villa kids were taking them.

Ludlow just really did all the could do to lose this game it seemed like, while Villa did everything they could to win it, so Villa deserved to win this game. So once again congrats to Villa and best of luck during the region!!!

Ludlow will be back though I believe in the starting lineup for todays game was only 1 senior, so they were a very young team. Ludlow also has a great baseball coach in Coach Brake and he will get this team back to the region probably next year!!!
