Lafayette starts with a trap game.

They know they should be top dog in Central Kentucky but open against a local rival that is in year two of the Paul Rains era. For Lafayette its time to validate the hype and take care of business. For Dunbar its a chance to get pull the upset and show that things will be different with Paul Rains as coach.

I will say Lafayette by two TDs.

I will slightly disagree with the TOP DOG in Central KY part. Considering you have Scott Co, Lex Catholic and Boyle Co in the region. For me to placed them as one of the top dog(s), they have to make a deeper run in the playoffs on a consistent basis. Which they have not. I do agree that handily beat PLD by 2-3 td's.

Lafayette did beat LexCath last year and and LexCath beat Boyle County. So based on last years performance Lafayette is tops of those 3 teams. All three teams look to be better than last year and all three have coaches in their 2nd year at their respective schools. Lafayette only lost to Scott County last year 42-38 in the first game of the season. With huge O-line and D-line and seasoned QB Walker Wood and talent in the offensive skill positions and defensive backs, Lafayette, on paper, looks like the team to beat in the Central Kentucky area. But they do have to prove it.

^^ ON A CONSISTENT BASIS ^^. I understand last season Lafayette barely beat Lex Cath, but I am looking at the totality of the region and as far as winning programs ( ie. playoffs wins, deep run in the playoffs etc etc etc ). I really thought last season for Lafayette had a better team last season and would go deep in the playoffs, but we all know where that ended up. Believe me I buy into what their doing over there, but till they start winning or going deeper in the playoffs, especially with all the D1 commits they have. They are behind Scott Co, Boyle Co and Lex Cath.
