It only matters in the game of greed. If you had a product people desired, you would also consider cutting supply or supply propaganda. I'm amazed it took those in the oil/gas business so long to do it.

They are now losing the ability to do it, OPEC is a thing of the past. I said years ago when they let oil get to $100 they dug their own graves. U.S. still has work to do but we have changed the energy game forever.
