Sometimes the Lord seems to say....

Recommended Posts

Sometimes the Lord seems to say, “Why don’t you just sit back on the shelf for a bit...and know that I am God.”

I had a malignant growth removed from my abdomen earlier this month...an 8-hour surgery that resulted in a 9-day hospital stay and 2 unscheduled returns in the next week.

Before going in, our Pastor had said, “You will be amazed that you can actually feel the prayers of God’s people.” And feel them we have. Frequently my wife (who spent every night with me) and I will just look at each other in wonder.

We have been told several times we had the best doctor possible for that kind of surgery. And every single comment from doctors and nurses have said how well I’m doing.

It has been a tremendous drain on the Mrs., who is as tough as they come. And I am constantly surprised at how little I can do. And yet....

--As of now I am only taking one medication.

--My boss has told me to get well...that they will hold my job until I can get back. After a 33-year broadcasting career in radio and television came to an end, being building superintendent at our church seemed a little out of my league. But it will have been ten-years next month.

I will have a follow-up consultation Wednesday to see what treatment will be needed next...and to get the remaining “accessories” removed.

from Psalm 26 - O Lord, I proclaim thanksgiving aloud, telling all of your wondrous deeds.

:thumb:What a wonderful & inspiring testimony, broadcaster! It reminded me of this scripture-Philippians 4:6-7

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)

I'll be keeping you & your wife in my prayers.:thumb:
