Deadly gun fight with anti-violence march nearby

In Cincinnati Monday night. This won't be a good summer in Cincy.

 

"CINCINNATI -- A teen involved in a gunfight was killed Monday night in northern Over-the-Rhine, the violence coming as a group of men led by Bishop Bobby Hilton marched nearby in an effort to stem the tide of shootings in the city.

 

Lt. Danita Pettis said three people, including 18-year-old Justin Crutchfield, were involved in the gunfight at Findlay Playground at about 7 p.m."

I believe a similar set of circumstances happened in Lexington last night at Douglass Park as well.

This is a struggle for drug territory. What new group has come in to take the established neighborhoods? It isn't like this is a new Latino, Russian, or Asian gang coming in. I wonder if there is a split among existing gangs.

Yep, minidoomer2 is playing in the basketball league there (which they have now relocated), and before he went to the game I jokingly told him not to get shot. Luckily he played in the 7PM game, and the shooting involved the participants in the 9PM game.
