With many teams in danger of going over the limit on games, the last two weeks of the season almost always have a slew of cancellations. Let's post them here.

Friday's Hazard-North Laurel game has been canceled.

 

South Laurel also had games scheduled with Middlesboro (Wednesday) and Bell County (Thursday) that are also canceled.

What is the limit? Do you get extra games for the all a tourney? I think I heard Beechwood's record is like 26 and 4...(wrong thread for this ??)

Per the KHSAA site:

 

(4) A maximum of thirty (30) games may be played prior to the beginning of KHSAA state championship tournament competition (district). Doubleheaders shall be counted as two (2) games each against the limit of thirty (30) games. A maximum of three (3) tournaments may be included in any manner other than counting each game played against the limit of thirty (30) games. Single elimination tournaments in which every team in the tournament is finished playing upon their first loss are eligible to be counted as one game against the limit of thirty (30) games. All other formats of tournaments are eligible to be counted as two games against the limit of thirty (30) games. Any team playing more than four games in any one tournament shall have each additional game played over four counted against the limit of thirty (30) games.

Tuesday's Hazard vs. Allen Central game was cancelled.

 

I think Hazard is at, close to, or over their limit in games.

 

AC had so many cancellations the beginning of the season, that they only have 21 games in. They're still good to go.

Beechwood has played 26 games they are 22-4 so they will have some cancel with 7 games left.

Rowan vs Hazard and East Carter vs Hazard for saturday has been cancelled.

If you look at the weather forecast, it looks like mother nature will take care of some of those cancellations for them.

Will they reschedule the Frosh, and JV tourney's or just cancel them?

not sure. There is an issue with number of umps to work all of it, since they will try to have 2 man crews on Frosh and JV tourneys.

It looks like the weather will not cooperate over the next 3 or 4 days.
