All Tell Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Anybody had a chance to use the advance version of Windows 10? The free update offer popped up on both my PCs yesterday and I'm wondering if I should let it update when it's available.
rjs4470 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Didn't know there was an advanced version. Windows 10 is supposed to be the update we wanted Windows 8 to be. The big thing for me, is the Start Menu is supposed to return. That alone is worth a free update.
All Tell Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 The info that comes with the update link says that thousands of people have been using Win 10 prior to it's general release, I guess beta testing. Just curious. I've just gotten fairly comfortable with Win 8 and any time I update an OS there always seems to be a learning curve.

Millennium was the Windows version I hated the most until Windows 8. I've never adjusted to the lack of a start menu, and all the "fixes" to make a type of start menu available, never really replaced the full functionality of the start menu. With all my software and devices, I typically update right away. I don't worry so much about change or learning curves. I've never had an instance where I've been disappointed or longed for the old version (except for Windows 8 which came on a new computer so I had no choice but to switch it.)
98NCCalum Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I love Windows 8. Been using 10 for about 4 months now, I really like it. It's still a little buggy but I'm using a prerelease build so that's expected.

As I said I tend to do OK when the OS changes there's just a bit of a learning curve for me.
