If a head football coach gets a $500,000 bonus for his players achieving a certain GPA, wouldn't it make more sense to gve it to the kids who earned it? If there are 100 kids on the team, that's $5,000 per kid.

If there are 100 kids on the team, that's $5,000 per kid. I think they are starting to get around that amount starting this season...it's called a cost of attendance stipend. It's based on factors at each school and community that school is in...UK's was determined to be one of the lowest in the SEC. So when recruiting a player against another SEC school UK is already at another disadvantage as the other schools can give them more money per semester than UK will be able to. I'm starting a thread on Cost of Attendance as not to hijack this one!
