Bulls fire Tom Thibodeau

Featured Replies

I just think he has been anointed as a great coach without doing that much to earn it. Has he taken a team to the Finals - even in an admittedly weak Eastern Conference? He has the reputation of wearing out players in the regular season - maybe right and maybe wrong. I also think he concentrates so much on defense, his offense suffers. The Bulls at times were painful to watch on offense in his era. He also has this "my way or the highway" mentality with his bosses...not good unless you are Phil or Pop.

I am a Thibs fan. He has won consistently, never missing the playoffs as the Bulls head coach. He has done this fighting through injuries to his roster the likes of which no other successful coach has had to deal with. His knock is that he couldn't beat Lebron- a lot of guys fall into this category. He has a top 10 winning percentage all time. There aren't five coaches in the league now that I would want over him, JMO.

I don't think he is a bad coach. I don't think he is great either.

John Paxson really comes out poorly in all of this.

I agree that Paxson looks bad now too. If Hoiberg does well, he will look a lot better quickly.
