It was an exciting game with a lot of big plays. Started out with a bang as Mary Beth Odom hit one off the scoreboard after being down in the count 0-2, I think. Dixie scored another and took a 2-0 lead but St. Henry answered in the bottom of the 1st with two, two out RBI hits by Stewart and Dietz to tie the score.

 

Both teams had a few chances with big innings that just didn't materialize and each had a runner thrown out at home on bang, bang plays that were very close. For the record I was fairly near home and thought the umpire got BOTH calls right.

Dixie went up 3-2 with one run in the 4th or 5th and St. Henry answered right back in the bottom of that inning.

 

3-3 in bottom of 6 when St. Henry got first two on. Two outs later it looked like it might have been for naught but Theresa Urban hammered one to deep center for a two out, two run double, which provided the winning margin. Game had a lot of exciting plays.
